I NEED YOUR HELP!
One of my goals in my efforts to spread the MindShifting word has always been to bring it to SXSW in Austin.
Well, this year I am taking my shot.
But, as you may know, the process begins with the SXSW audience voting on potential topics/sessions.
So here is the session I have put together:
Constructive Conflict: Not an Oxymoron
In an era of volatility, polarization, and change fatigue, district leaders must be more than managers—they must be constructive disruptors. This session empowers superintendents and assistant superintendents with the skills to lead through tension, not around it. You’ll leave with a new lens on leadership—one that transforms reactive conflict into a lever for clarity, momentum, and systemic improvement. This is not a sit-and-get lecture. Expect to participate, reflect, and leave with new cognitive tools to apply immediately in your district.
Takeaways
Takeaway 1: Strategic Insight: Recognize when conflict is your signal for innovation, not just resolution.
Takeaway 2: Actionable Techniques: Learn three transformative methods to reframe conflict and guide it toward meaningful, system-level progress.
Takeaway 3: Scalable Leadership Practices: Apply what you learn across classroms, schools, teams, and community interactions.
