Moving the newsletter/blog
You are receiving this newsletter from the new MindShiftingWithMitch blog site.
Why are we moving our newsletter/blog from Substack and Kit?
This WordPress site offers greater flexibility for readers; it’s what my marketing friend and guru David Shay calls a content garden.
Popular subjects appear as a list on the right, tags appear just below them, and featured posts and podcast episodes are accessible from the top menu. In addition to seeing the articles themselves, you will be able to hone in by subject or tag. If you want to see all articles on Collaboration, click on the subject. If you are interested in articles about imposter syndrome, you can click on the tag just below the subjects.
Plus, the MindShiftingWithMitch blog site offers robust commenting ability, so I’m hopeful we can have great discussions where people can disagree, support each other, and offer their own insights.
Please help us by commenting on, sharing, or linking to articles.
More people are teaching MindShifting
If we are going to provide 5 million people the ability to be more resourceful, resilient, and collaborative through MindShifting, we have to have more people who can coach and teach. I am really happy that Tammie Schrader and Jane Lyons are conducting PD in MindShifting, adding their own experiences in the classroom (and life) to make the classes come alive.
Kevin Honeycutt and I have put together in-person train the trainer sessions in Colorado Springs, over the summer, autumn, and winter.. These are very comprehensive economical ways to train to learn to teach MindShifting. Contact us for more information.
Nancy Mangum, Theresa Gibson, and Darren Hudgins of Leading Edge Learning have incorporated key aspects of MindShifting in their professional development for education coaches, administrators, and teachers. Contact Leading Edge to learn the latest engaging education techniques that fold in resourcefulness, resilience, and collaboration.
Speaking out on MindShifting
I’m really happy to be receiving 2-4 invitations a month to talk about MindShifting. You can catch up on recent appearances on Steve Miletto’s podcast, Michael Palmer’s Trending in Ed, and Mark Haine Live.
We will feature summaries and archives of appearances here on the blog. If you’d like us to talk about MindShifting at your event, on your podcast, or in your blog, just contact us.
Mastering Your Resourceful Brain course with AI coaching
We are in the process of creating a Mastering Your Resourceful Brain online course that includes online AI coaching. There are over 30 MindShifting techniques taught in the Stop Your Brain from Sabotaging Your Happiness and Success book and the live Mastering Your Resourceful Brain course. We are putting that content online and training AI to walk participants through each of the strategies. An added bonus is that course subscribers can go back to the AI agents whenever they feel they need to use one of the MindShifting strategies to overcome being stuck or anxious.
The course should be available by the end of August, but a preview, including one AI coaching exercise will be out just after July 4. If you are interested in testing it out, please reach out.
Conflict and Collaboration book
The second book in the MindShifting series will be MindShifting Volume 3: Conflict and Collaboration. The draft has now been through three edits by me and is being passed to an editor. The book should be out before the end of October. Chapters will be:
- Why are so many people wrong?
- Breaking the win/lose cycle
- The five styles of conflict resolution
- Conflict resolution from resourceful or survival mindsets
- Motivational Interviewing as collaboration
- Stress, wellbeing and conflict
- Groups and group pressure in conflicts
- Nonviolent communications to achieve lasting results
We will want a few people to review pre-published copies in August and join the book launch team. Again, reach out if you are interested.
And yes, it’s the second book but volume 3. IYKYK
What else?
Some of you saw that I had a melanoma removed from my leg three weeks ago. Post operative recovery has been very easy, although I’ve occasionally violated doctor’s instructions, and I may have gone dancing once or twice. I figure no one can be sad, upset, or angry while they are dancing, so it was worth it.
The pathology has come back that there is no sign of malignant cells in the area of the tumor nor in the lymph nodes.
Presurgery, we took a two day bicycle trip around the north and south forks of Long Island with friends, 30-35 miles a day, 7 wineries, and an overnight at Shelter Island. The photo at the top shows us about to taste some wines at Channing Daughters Winery on the second day.
All appears good. Talk to you all soon.
